The City Service Administration has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and administrations in Mölndal City. The administration has about 550 employees and is organized into four operational areas: meals and cleaning, water and recycling, city maintenance, and support and customer service.

The Water and Recycling operational area works for a sustainable future by ensuring clean water in both taps and watercourses, as well as promoting more sustainable consumption with reduced waste. We do this by developing, maintaining, and improving our operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help develop the future's water and sewage systems in a growing municipality? We are now looking for a GIS Engineer to join our team.

As a GIS Engineer, you will play a key role within the unit, where you will work both strategically and operationally to fulfill the responsibilities of the water and sewage authority according to the Water Services Act. You will be responsible for developing and managing the operational system for the water and sewage network, in close contact with users. By using geographic information technology, you contribute to creating a smarter and more sustainable municipality.

Your role includes further developing and managing the GIS system VA-Banken, where you will have primary responsibility for maintaining the water and sewage network. You will actively work to streamline digital work processes while providing support and training to users of the system. You will create thematic maps, perform GIS analyses, and ensure that VA-Banken contains necessary and quality-assured information.

Together with business developers, you will drive the development of digital and data-driven work methods, for example, within digital water meters, AI projects, and automation of geodata flows.

An important part of your work is to document routines and work methods, prepare materials for new construction maps, and partially work with surveying, mapping, and administration of Ledningskollen. You will also contribute to improvement work and develop automated methods for geodata management.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in GIS or equivalent. You have experience with GIS systems and software such as QGIS and FME, as well as good technical skills.

It is advantageous if you have experience with VA-Banken, myCarta, database management (SQL), and water and sewage-related competencies.

As a person, you are communicative, collaborative, structured, and solution-focused. We expect you to have a good command of Swedish and be able to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing.
